The first few weeks

During the first two to three weeks after the baby is born, many new moms feel weepy, moody, irritable and overwhelmed. This is called the "Baby Blues" or "Postpartum Blues". During this time especially mom needs some extra rest and someone to be there for her. You can also make sure she eats well and gets some exercise, such as going for a walk. Ask her what you can do to help her.
